The Sabaudia Sailing and Sailing School was founded in 1998 and enjoys the reputation of being one of the best on the Lazio coast. It is located in the centre of the Circeo National Park, right at the foot of the mountain, on Lake Paola, connected to the sea by an ancient Roman canal. The climate and the situation allow the school to be active all year round. The place is of incomparable beauty: lake, sea of rock and golden beaches, uncontaminated woods, mountains and beautiful landscapes are all at “walking distance”. Sabaudia and the ancient village of S. Felice Circeo have been a destination for demanding tourists for years. The environment is very welcoming and courtesy and utmost seriousness are the main rule of the school. The instructors are all experienced sailors and have years of sailing experience in the seas around the world.
The courses allow you to learn to govern a Catamaran or a Drift independently. The lesson consists of two parts: one of theory, where the first notions of sailing are learned, the terminology, the gaits, the effects of the wind and the essential nodes, and a practice, in which one learns to arm the boat and to navigate alternating with the mainsail, the jib and the helm, until you have become familiar with all the maneuvers and the management of the boat itself.
At the end of the course the school issues a certificate with judgment on the pupil’s attitudes to sailing and the Italian Sailing Federation card . Students can enroll for courses from eight years upwards’, without age limits provided they are able to swim. The school is strongly insured against all risks.
